Job Description:
Project C.U.R.E. is a non-profit organization based in the United States that ships out donated medical equipment, instruments, and consumables to clinics and hospitals around the world. Before any of Project C.U.R.E.’s medical goods are shipped, an Assessment Study by our Needs Assessment Representatives is performed to ensure that specific needs and requirements are understood and met. The goal of each Needs Assessment Study is to establish a relationship built on mutual trust with the partner, gather information on the capabilities and needs of the facility(s), and establish the possibility of on-going assistance with all parties involved.

Project C.U.R.E. is seeking a contracted Needs Assessment Representative in partnership with FHI 360 to conduct Needs Assessment Studies in Burkina Faso. The Representative will meet with doctors, nurses and staff at each medical facility to conduct an in-depth Needs Assessment Study that investigates the areas of medical expertise and the medical training of the personnel, availability and type of electricity, and past relief efforts to that hospital or clinic. The Representative should be able to represent Project C.U.R.E. to an international audience, as well as possess the technical skills required to carry out in-depth needs assessments in a variety of medical settings. The Representative will work closely with both Project C.U.R.E. staff based in Denver, Colorado as well as local FHI 360 staff. This position reports to the Field Assessment Manager at Project C.U.R.E. Headquarters.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct on-site visits to health facilities as assigned to complete a Needs Assessment Study.
• Consult with health facility staff to determine needed medical equipment, instruments and consumables and their respective priorities.
• Evaluate infrastructure of health facility for electrical supply, electrical access per room, water supply, room layout, and doorway size.
• Complete on-site visit surveys depicting quantitative information for each facility as assigned.
• Complete brief summary of qualitative information for each facility as assigned.
• Complete a full facility, walk thru tour of each health facility.
• Complete a media package of photos and videos depicting all departments at the facility, indicating specific departments through audio or visual reference.
• Conduct discussions with FHI 360 and Project C.U.R.E. as appropriate to capture and report on the allocation and sequence strategy for the supporting container shipments.
• Complete and submit to Project C.U.R.E. management weekly timesheets.
• Complete and submit to Project C.U.R.E. management expense reports with supporting receipts for travel costs incurred to complete the on-site visits.
• Advise and escalate to Project C.U.R.E. management immediately any risks or issues that jeopardize or negatively impact the implementation of the required activities.

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in public health, international development, or related field.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and French.
• Familiarity with medical terms, medical equipment, and health facility operations.
• Excellent written and oral skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel within Burkina Faso to health facilities.
• Experience residing and working in Burkina Faso.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Affiliation with a business in Burkina Faso.
• Access to appropriate technology to complete the media package, such as a smart phone or digital camera.
• Access to appropriate level of Wi-Fi to transfer large media files.
